We are proud to announce the launch of our new company dedicated to supplying the Live Event and Tradeshow industry with ballast for truss and LED proprietary ground support. We are dedicated to providing counterweight for an industry that is sorely in need of efficient, space-saving, inexpensive ballast. In the new age of LED and large ground supported truss structures, providers now need engineer stamped drawings to provide proof to the venue of the structures' safety and stability. We are here to provide the right amount of counterweight in the right place to fulfill those requirements set out.
The first of several groundbreaking products we are introducing are the Pig Iron Steel Ballast Plates. These are steel plates cut to be handled by one man and drop onto the top chord of any truss and hang balanced – without any other need for connection. They weigh about 40 pounds per inch and can fit side by side on a 12” box truss – amounting to around 2500 pounds that can be hung on a 4' stick of truss. They take up way less room in the truck and in the warehouse. On site they are out of the way; safe and secure hanging on the truss. No more stacks of sandbags slipping off the truss or cheeseboro'd pipe to hang on. No more boxes of sand teetering on the truss that can only be lifted by a fork. All the weight you need right where you want it without the huge expensive concrete filled boxes taking up valuable room backstage or in the closet.
